Question: How can I turn off the auto feature in Word that puts in number/letters for me when creating an outline?  I don’t have it selected – I want it to stop trying to think for me.

Answer:

1.) Select from the toolbar, Format > Auto Format. . .

2.) Click the “Options” button

3.) Click the “AutoFormat As You Type” Tab

4.) Uncheck “Automatic numbered lists”

5.) Click OK
