Adjust The Time Zone in Windows XP

With a branch office and many traveling associates, Tech Support gets a lot of questions related to time zones. Misadjusted time zones can lead to mass duplication of appointments and files in both Outlook and a PDA. Additionally if a meeting request is sent or accepted by a system with incorrect time settings, the associates’ calendar often won’t match. You should not simply add or subtract hours in the Windows Date & Time. You should change the Time Zone to match your current location. Once your time zone is correct, you may adjust the date and/or time to correct for non-time zone related incongruities. Here is the correct way to change your time zone when traveling or changing locations.

Reduce Your Way To Faster Outlook Performance

It's very easy to allow your Outlook inbox to become fat with unneeded messages and attachments that should be saved separately. The bigger your inbox, the slow email is, for yourself and everyone else.  

Outlook 2003 includes a tool called “Mailbox Cleanup” to help you manage the size of your inbox .

New Email Groups

In the coming weeks there will be several address groups that will either be changed, combined or possibly removed. This is in an effort to reduce confusion with e-mails sent.As a start, there are 2 "NEW" Groups that have been add to the Outlook Global Address Book.

_Arizona – Only Associates in Arizona will receive e-mails sent to this Group
_Owings Mills – Only Associated in Owings Mills will receive e-mails sent to this Group

To send to everyone in the company you can still use:_Everyone – Every Levin Group Associate receive e-mails sent to this Group.

As we make changes we will keep you all informed.

This tip allows you to change where that AutoRecovery temporary file is saved. The helpdesk recommends making a "Word Autorecovery" folder in you’re my Documents to save these files for easy access and server back-ups.

Fellow LG and LFS Associates, This is the first installment of a weekly email from the tech support help desk. Every week you will receive a tip, trick, and simple how-to on some of MS Office's more obscure features. This week's TECH TIP is regarding Microsoft Word 2000. Did you know that Word can save the document you are working in automatically in the background? As the rhetorical question implies, you can! In fact, Word has several ways to save in the background. This tip allows you to change how often an AutoRecover temporary file is saved. We recommend setting the AutoRecover frequency to about 5 minutes.
